  Mort Subotnick

Silver Apples of the Moon, composed by Morton Subotnick in 1967 with the first version of Buchla's 'Electric Music Box', was also the first major composition to use the sequencers that Buchla invented as part of his synthesizer. And it was the first composition to be commissioned specifically for a recording.
