Gestation is an interactive sound and video installation composed in 2001 by Garth Paine in Melbourne, Australia.
The concept is to involve members of the public in the creation of the work. Gestation includes two integrated spaces, one with a sound installation controlled by people's motion through the field surveyed by a video camera, the other with a large-image video projection responding to activity in the sound installation.
